A friend of mine dips in a waterglass (sodium silicate) solution. It seals the surface for years and you can literally just hose gunk off.

I did check some car springs and all I found was too stiff, on the other side of +200 lbs. But I'll lift my "cup" to any offered help, thanks!

Geezer,- the 29 mm has a margin for shimming.. when I get the heads back IŽll see how much,- but itŽs not much.
