I can't post on the Swap Meet board.

When I click on "Add A New Post" on the "Swap Meet" board, I receive a message that I am not allowed to post there.

My wife's cousin has a trike and parts he'd like to sell, so I told him I would...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I met with Marcus at his shop yesterday. We discussed the future of our country and this moronic generation that is coming of age now. He briefed me on setting points on Tabitha, and we went for a...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

Marcus told me a few days ago, that he'd have Tabitha ready this friday. I can't wait to be re-united with her, but I dread seeing the bill.

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I'll quote the receipt as to what was done. I know the wiring is being replaced, and the ignition will be switched over from a electric, to a standard points. And replacing my solo seat.

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I agree with everything you said. The problem is, I live in an RV and I'm heading out to Arizona in a month or so. I have a canopy that I park my bike under and I made a platform to use my bike jack...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

Marquis called me to the shop today to give me a run down of the situation. One of the feed lines was partially blocked, and my oil tank is full of metal shavings. There are racing points on it, that...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I haven't heard the verdict on the problem yet, but I hope to know something tomorrow.

If the problem doesn't turn out to be a complete rebuild, I'll be getting it repaired. If it does need to be...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

Marqus, (of Twisted Piston), called today and left a message. He said that there is an oil flow issue, but he hadn't had time to investigate further, and he would call when he knows more.

So Jaws...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I finally gave up and called a local Ironhead specialist. He even brought his trailer down and picked her up for an extra $20.

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

One line goes underneath, between the frame and the motor, and the other line goes under the starter. I'd have to remover the starter to see where it connects.

If I took pics and posted them on...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

Are you saying to slightly open the two lines that feed off the front of the tank, to check for oil is being pumped through the system?

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I've owned her since dec. last year. I went to Bloomington Indiana to buy her and rode her back home to Effingham, Illinois. Since then, I have ridden her all over central Illinois and north east...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I had a friend ride over from the next state to visit me today. On my way to meet him, (after about 5 miles), my engine started making a high pitched sound that I've never heard before. Then the...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I got my 60wt from a Harley dealership. I actually bought 6 quarts, since I knew I was going to be traveling and may not have access to any along the way.

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I believe I understand what you're saying. What I do is slow, pull the clutch, down shift then rev it enough so that when I release the clutch slowly, my speed is consistently slowing down. Rather...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I don't have an rpm gauge on my bike. I slow down and down shift when I think it's ready for it. So, when you say "Matching RPM", I'm not real sure what you are asking me. Can you please explain?

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

I was told by a friend named Jack in Illinois that 60wt was best for my bike. His family has owned and operated the Harley Repair in Effingham, Ill. since the late 1960s. He only works on the older...

Re: First time motorcycle mechanic w/many questions.

Okay. New question.

I read that "Red Line" tranny oil, will remove the clunking sound from the tranny when down shifting. Has anyone used Red Line or Lucas and had it remove or reduce the clunking...
