Re: Vertical rear master cyclinder

If you're not already keen, make sure you're matching the MC bore with the bore the caliper is expecting to run with. Else you can be stuck with really terrible brake feel and/or poor braking...

Re: 1960 swingarm panhead CHOPPER for People's Champ 7

Man, the "motorshop swinger" concept really works and looks killer! Nice one.

Re: Open Primary Knucklehead

Pans and Knuckles (and early shovels?) had the short-er main shafts and the trans cases have no ears for a bearing support. They're all run stock without a support.

If you want tho, check out the...

Re: Stripped Magneto/Breaker Hole

I think what he was getting at was if the insertion tool is not thread specific, then he'll just buy a 1/4-20 kit and use that tool for the 1/4-24 helicoil repair on the case?

Re: Harley cable housing end types, sourcing/swapping

This is only for the brake side lever/control.

The clutch is a Lee-sih copy foot clutch.

Re: Harley cable housing end types, sourcing/swapping

I feel a little embarrassed to not think of this option first... that seems like it could be an ideal solution really.

Do you know perchance the OD of the cable end ferrule that is intended to...

Re: Harley cable housing end types, sourcing/swapping

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Flanders seems like the ticket overall, but there doesnt seem to be the magic combo of a cable end for 9mm housing with a .25" OD step-down end :/

I may try...

Harley cable housing end types, sourcing/swapping

Hello,

I recently got (what I thought was) a good deal on a clutch/brake cable for my pan project. This will be used for my front TLS drum brake specifically.

But, it seems that there are...

Re: Stainless exhaust builders kit and/or panhead flanges?

I guess I'm using the term loosely... by flanges I mean the swadges that skip on the exhaust spigots (in the pic I posted on the OP). The equivalent of flanges for shovels or STD heads.

And of...

Re: Stainless exhaust builders kit and/or panhead flanges?

Abso-fucking-lutely! DM'd you.

No doubt, this is awesome. I am very happy to be a part of JJ if only to be a witness to these things, let alone a direct beneficiary.

I'm going to have...

Re: Stainless exhaust builders kit and/or panhead flanges?

Yeah, I saw those too... but no panhead flanges off the shelf still :/

Oh, great. I already have some ER308L. I am my no means an expert welder but I hope I can do a pleasant job with that...

Stainless exhaust builders kit and/or panhead flanges?

I seem to recall that Biltwell made their builders exhaust kit in a stainless version, which, like the mild steel one came with an assortment of flanges for pan, shovel, STD, evo etc.

That seems...

Re: Clamshell headlight assembly

Its not crazy loose.... just more that seems reasonable when rigid mounted to a
rattly chopper going down the road. Like less than 1/32" clearance. Something like that trim tape seems just the...

Clamshell headlight assembly

Hey ya'll.

I have this cool (to me) cateye headlight for the swinger pan project. I think it'll fill the inner area of the wide glide perfectly. Basically I have the headlight shell and a new...

Re: Zodiac: The Envy of Seattle

I've not fully torqued it up just yet (still need to get it mocked with the belt on the engine sprocket to be able to jam the belt and get final torque). With hand torque I was able to see a visual...

Re: Zodiac: The Envy of Seattle

Onto the Overbearing saga.

I had heard from a number of sources that their Overbearings (from Bare Knuckle Choppers) were not fitting right on their 4 speeds. They were too thick. I guess that...

Trying to keep this thread up-to-date with projects that have been "completed"

Those pics are from before I blew it apart... the eccentrics are all disengaged now (slipping a quick feeler between them and the shoe).

Shoes + liners are the same. BUT I did not specifically...

Juice brake backing plate alignment to drum + axle

I am having a very hard time getting my mid-star juice drum back together and aligned so that I can at least hang the wheel+brake on the frame.

I fully disassembled my mid star juice drum backing...

Re: This belt drive is beating me..

If the trans nuts are staying put the next thing to sniff out it your shafts and bearings, unfortunately.

After the belt is loose again are you able to put more torque on the engine/trans...

Re: o/t: What safety gear do you wear?

You'll get a ton of opinions, and they're just that. Life is inherently dangerous and you just gotta make the compromise for yourself. There aint no solution, just compromise.

Me? I will...
