Re: Knuckle/Shovel
Bummer to see OEM parts used on a build like that. S&S top end would be the way to go, and let those parts go to a real Knucklehead.....

Re: 1970 ElectraGlide Front End
The correct way to do it is with a walking beam equalizer on the bottom tree so both brakes have equal pressure with one cable and lever as per Vincent style. Been done many times in the past. Mid...

Re: scored a russian denpr today
Lots have been converted to BMW powerplants, although at that price by the time it is done it is more than the rig is worth. Parts are easier to find in Europe than the US.

Re: seat pans
The primary difference between seat pans on an H-D has to do with construction methods. The earlier pans are all riveted pommel and the later are welded. The basic shape is the same and the -25...

Re: 2 Shovelheads - Brooklyn NY to Portland OR
Nothing sucks quite so bad as riding the interstate. If you have the time take the state highways and secondary roads. Much nicer riding in every state and a chance to actually see stuff. I have...

Re: 1965 FLH motor leaks question
Check the crankcase breather, make sure it is unobstructed. If someone put a filter on it throw that away. The pump provides more volume, but not more pressure..

Re: juice drum?
The first juice drums for the beginning of the '58 model year were stamped. They changed mid year to cast iron. You may have an original drum on there.
Only '58-'62 type drums will work. A'63 -'66...

Re: WLD build
jz,
As I said in your intro, WLDs have standard size valves. End of story.
All WLD, WLDR, WR, big fin cylinders have -39 casting codes. All W/WL/WLA/WLC/ cylinders are -36.
This is one of a...

Re: FNG jersey bought a WLD 1942 any help
The only "special" pistons available were the Dow metal type (magnesium). But they weren't in stock WLDs and were optional in the racers. All factory WLDs used the same old pistons as WLs. The...

Re: FNG jersey bought a WLD 1942 any help
A 42WLD is a civilian bike and has nothing to do with Military or Police use. The WLD designation means it was a special "Sport Solo" and came with special cylinders (the single most valuable piece...

Re: WR rod bearings ?
Lots of hybrid engines were built back in the early years. And more than one 45 had K top end in the '50s. But a true magnum is an OHV top end, not substituting one obsolete technology for another....
