Re: 68’ T120 with a CB350 front end.

Quite right, of course. But then the OP is faced with the work that Goldy mentioned. (Of course maybe his skills and access to machinery make that the easy alternative. Guess I'll shut up now.)

Re: 68’ T120 with a CB350 front end.

Why do any of those things? Look for Triumph forks, they're not exactly hen's teeth.

'68, '69, '70 have the best drum brake I've used. If you go with later Tri forks, embrace the certainty of...

I know which I'd choose. Hospital food is the best!

Re: 80" Super Magnum motor build

Thanks a lot! ... And am I then guessing sort of correctly in thinking the smaller tool with the knurled bits to the right of the lapper in #22 is to support and center the lapper's shaft at its far...

Re: 80" Super Magnum motor build

Sorry I'm ignorant, but what is the second photo in post 22 of? -- I'm stumped.

365 oiling has got to be the ultimate in lubrication!

Re: I need a voice of reason..

Long as people are doing semistock Sportster show 'n tells, I wish the Cookie Monster would post up a photo of his ... uh, '69? '70? CH. C'mon, cooks. My eyeballs thirst for a look at it.

Re: My 73 Triumph build

My (first) redundant remark of the day: In re post 33, stock Triumphs have a 360 firing order, not 120 -- although I've read that reorganizing the crankshaft to 90 or 76 works great. Something...

Re: I need a voice of reason..

That bike knocked my smelly socks off when it first came out. Like Harley-Davidson's ten thousand monkeys with typewriters, a.k.a., its styling department, had managed to get a seriously fine-looking...

Re: I need a voice of reason..

Not-much-fun Fact: As is prob'ly well known, Ron Finch built frames to accommodate the usual engines. They were pretty elegant things (altho the ones meant to house British engines were too stretched...

Re: I need a voice of reason..

69, I applaud your likely decision to return your new Sporter to swingarmness. I applaud so hard my monocle pops out.

No offense intended to the 50 trillion guys who've hardtailed the things.

Re: A lifetime project

Now and again I get struck by the wild imagination and sheer capability of many JJ contributors. (Then I swallow my tongue and pass out.)

Thanks again for the show & tell, Dutch. Also, thanks for...

Re: new here

No Sportster guys here. No Harleys at all. In fact, no bikes. This forum is exclusively concerned with stamp collecting.

Welcome.

You don't need me to tell you how good that looks, or to say "great job."

That's just too bad, 'cause I already said them.

Thanks for the fresh batch of pics. That bunch and the preceding,...

Re: Old BSA poster

Oh no thanks, Pete, don't look for one on my account. I like the thing but I wouldn't pay $20 for it (let alone $75!).

Re: Gear box Sprocket Nut. 1970 T100R

Um ... I hope somebody else comes along and says "One and an eighth, that's right." I mean somebody who has seen the nut in question more recently than about 1983.

Not to whine, but do you know a...
