Great point about the lights and tire. This machine is going to need some tweaking and eventually new tires. I figure as long as im running a linkert and a oem j slot everything is gonna be ok.

I suspect the method that rubone described is the way to go....unless you want to butcher your pan neck and bore the id to except stock vl cups......pretty hardcore.

I started popping the emblem mounts off but I dont want to damage the tanks at all by prying on them. Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of torch I should use to melt these little solider or...

All the stuff I looked at at acme was high quality and heavy duty. Def a place for parts that are actually going to be pounded on.

I got the tank from Acme choppers. When I was there getting my frame worked on I noticed the tank. I got it for 400 because it was not being used and the fact that I was already getting work done...

Got the frame cleaned up and bead blasted. Drove her to new hampshire for a doctors visit to acme choppers frame jig for the nessessary tweaking. They found a few cracks near the tranny mounts and...

So correct 48FL. Its looks like someone at somepoint solidered or brazed the later emblem mounts on. Maby they damaged there tanks and replaced with earlier tanks. Such a long and rocky romance these...

I agree. The early paint colors are awesome. I really love the font and design of the logo as well. Its somehow a bit more tough looking then the chrome emblems in my opinion. I will def need a good...

I plan on running a mag on mine. With how easy it is to mount a mag into a flathead verses a panhead.....why not run a mag.
