I have used methyl ethyl ketone (mek) w great results. Dangerous stuff but it works. If you donít clean the old lining out, it will come off and block tour petcock. Happened to me

I have solid lifters in mine. I can easily remove the p rods by adjusting them all the way in (making them shorter).

I just rebuilt an s and s and had the same symptom. I turned out I had reversed the spring and diaphragm. I canít remember now but I had put the spring over the diaphragm rather than under it. Or...

I vote for the peeling tank coat. I had the same thing once. A sheet peeled off and would float around in the tank until it blocked the out flow.
