Re: Anyone ever used Tamiya RC car paint on their bikes?

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, i was thinking of using Spray Max 2k over the color to help protect it. I'll test a piece out before i commit to make sure they don't react.

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

Re: Anyone ever used Tamiya RC car paint on their bikes?

The paint I'm talking about is already fuel and oil resistant as seen here on the Tamiya website. I'd probably use a clear on top anyway though....

Re: Anyone ever used Tamiya RC car paint on their bikes?

I might try it out on the battery box I need to paint. I'll post my results when I do it.

Anyone ever used Tamiya RC car paint on their bikes?

I recently bought a Tamiya Frog rc car and built it up and painted it. I had cars back when I was a kid and the nostalgia factor really grabbed me. Anyway, I used Tamiya spray paints for the body. ...

Re: Where do you British bike guys get your crankshafts ground?

Aren't they only in England? I can't imagine what it would cost to ship a crank and cases over seas.

Re: Where do you British bike guys get your crankshafts ground?

Yeah, i sent them a service request on their website last week and still haven't heard back from them yet. This time of year after the holidays I think a lot of companies are just trying to get back...

Re: Where do you British bike guys get your crankshafts ground?

That's cheap, but I think I need to send my cases along with it to get line reamed.

Re: Where do you British bike guys get your crankshafts ground?

That's most likely who I will be taking mine to. Shipping a crank and cases will cost a fortune both ways if I were to send it out somewhere else.

Where do you British bike guys get your crankshafts ground?

My BSA needs some crank work. Specifically the timing side crank journal needs to be ground with a new bush to fit it, and line reamed. Who do you guys recommend?

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

I love all these ideas on color being thrown around! I appreciate all the input!

I had thought about gold as well, but the green just keeps speaking to me.

Bongwater is never green, but I...

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

On any other aspect of the bike I had a good idea of what I wanted...except for paint colors. I think I'd like a solid color just to keep it simple, as this will be more first paint job on a tank. ...

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

I decided to get the battery box, rear fender, and tank epoxy primed before I move on to the motor. More SEM rattlecan epoxy.

Tank needs a little bit more sanding but not much...

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

Just about a roller again. I had to get new rubber fork gaiters because the ones I bought last summer cracked and split just sitting inside the garage. Cheap garbage. I found ones that are made in...

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

Haha, thanks, but I've still got a long way to go. My goal is to have it done by late spring.

Ha! I've seen that method done a bunch of times on various build threads. I don't think it's that uncommon.

Re: Picked up a another BSA today, not sure what direction to go...

Yeah, it's going to be a real challenge to not ding it up.

From my experience taking the motor out I dont' think so, but I may be wrong. The service manual states you need to turn the motor...
