Its been my experience with L series carbs, that getting the float set just right can be troublesome. My Ironhead drag bike runs an L series and I had a quite a bit of trouble in 2015 with filling...

The casting number on mine is 60602-79. Which is different than the half dozen or so that I have looked at. No idea how much bearing the casting number has on...

Like I said, its as I have been told.

I do know that the 82 inner has a different casting number than the rest of them. I believe it is also a unique part number, not positive on that though.

I've been told that 82 FXR is one year only. No idea why, but there is some misalignment/something ain't right. There is lots of 82 only things on the FXR. Other than the bastard 82, 83 and up are...

Whats your start procedure?

On my bike, its gas on, ignition off. A couple of gentle roll throughs on the kicker. Bring it up on compression, ignition on, enrichener up, one kick. Thats it.

Try a hard wax instead of the WD. Candle wax is a bit too hard, but mold makers sheet wax works great. Use it when grinding aluminum with abrasives, carbide burrs etc etc.

Just hit the wax first...

Its also called spotting die and is used extensively in the mold and die industry for matching components to levels of accuracy that we'll never have to concern ourselves...
