Re: Shovel Oil Pump Drive Shaft

Re: Shovel Oil Pump Drive Shaft

There was a bit of debris in the pump housing but nothing came out of the gear case. Guy said he was at a swap meet, fired the bike up to go across the parking lot to a watering hole and noticed the...

Shovel Oil Pump Drive Shaft

I've got a 79 FLH on my lift that snapped the oil pump drive shaft right at the drive gear key way. When it snapped it bent the shaft just enough to I can't pull it straight out of the bushing in the...

Re: Suggestions for frame brackets to support exhausts?

Here are the P brackets with some variation, come in different sizes and are easily modified to fit. I've used them before with marginal success. I am of the mindset that exhaust brackets need to be...

Re: 84 fxdg

I've presented my-self a formidable challenge here. The disc glide has been a basket case for about five years now, moved locations several times and now the time has finally come to start getting...

Re: again.. gearbox oil

The topic of oil is an age old discussion. I once sat thru a Royal Purple presentation and after hearing their pitch couldn't understand why I had ever run anything else through my engines.

Re: 84 fxdg

Don't be to envious man, the pictures you on this thread so far span several years and several shops. Yes, the bikes are all mine, or were...however the Mustang was not. The FXDG is now in my...

Re: Help assemblying gear case. Cam gear end play etc.

To question the service manual is like questioning your mother, you just don't do it! Do it right, or do it twice!

Re: 84 fxdg

I don't believe this bike ever went down in the state that I have known it in. The White Horse has been a basket case for probably eight years though...I know for certain the front cylinder spigot is...

Re: 84 fxdg

I have made a typo here in that the bike is a 1983 Disc Glide FXDG rather than the 1984. Oh well, check your vin!

Anyway, Don't let the purists see this!

Because this bike is simply being...

Re: 84 fxdg

So, back to the Disc Glide. The odometer reads over 52,000 miles and the last time I recall this thing running was in 2003. I am going to do a full engine rebuild from the crank bearings up and was...

Re: 84 fxdg

A few years after completing the bike with a cone, I moved back to NY and they would not honor the numbers Arizona state gave me on the CC title. So, I found a long block..
