Re: Pardon my ignorance. Delkron Case Generator Shovel.

I was just messing with the Hipsters, Gorgeous. I say buy it and ride it. It will probably be way better than stock. Typically the well-known aftermarket guys have drastically improved on all HD...

Re: K2FC magneto

Green label mags were hotter and more waterproof that the red labels. Specially prepped for racing. 6 55 is probably the date code, so it is probably for a Tiger 100R or RR or RS. What is your...

Re: Pre Unit Magneto on a Unit engine

Just make sure you take into consideration the nut that is at the bottom of the triangle. On a pre-unit there is nothing in the way, on a unit, there is a lot in the way of access to the nut

Re: 500 barrels

And TR5s and Tiger100s remained alloy and remained 500cc bolt pattern cases, hence the rarity/desirability of the "big bearing" 500 cases.

Re: What does a typical Triumph unit twin engine overhaul run?

Average here is about $3200 parts and labor, but it goes up from there depending on cosmetics and condition of parts that usualy don't wear out. I like lots of new quality parts, though, so I tend...

Re: 750 Triumph wet sumpin?

Just as an FYI to add to what Tony said, the increased amount of oil in the lower end creates tremendous lower end crankcase pressure. The pistons wham into the bottom and oil escapes the pressure...

Re: Vinyl Bates Solo Seats?

It s a cool seat. I did a tuck and roll seat on a bike I built for a guy once on an old Bates pan I had chromed. I collected up all my little crews and made the upholsterer re-do them. Talk about...

Re: 750 Triumph wet sumpin?

I only use Morgos, I won't warrantee a motor without a Morgo. Everything else is just toooooo risky. 15 years ago when I started older pumps seemed largely ok. But we are all 15 years older now.

Re: Vinyl Bates Solo Seats?

Of course they made vinyl seats, I have seen tons of them and so did SG. Only way to tell on that sticker is to measure it. Its either Bates or SG. Nobody 30 years ago would use those little...

Re: 450-18 Rear Tire on a Pre-Unit

Re: 1969 Triumph Bobber Rear Wheel help

I would use a nut against the backing plate, if you are lucky the stock outer nut will fit perfectly and act as a spacer.. You might also make a pre-unit "speedo drive eliminator" nut work on the...

I have built a bunch of bikes over the years, none of them were enough money. Notthe cheap ones, not the expensive ones. NONE. If Dan charges $26,000 average, I figure he is losing about $4000 on...
