Re: Dopethrone Engine Swap

FWIW, I have a set of LAFs on a Shovel, and it's way quieter than I ever would have guessed.

Re: Ugly and Funny Bikes... the "Short Bus" of pic threads..

Choppers are worth preserving, too. It just depends on whether you measure in love or money.

Re: Ugly and Funny Bikes... the "Short Bus" of pic threads..

Good lines, even with that tall motor. 16/19, hot wheel combo way back when. Fender follows the rear wheel real closely, too.

That bike was built who-knows-when... but it still looks good today....

Re: Round coils

...unless it's a Dyna S, which uses a points-style coil.

Re: Joe Hunt Mag

Oh, I missed the Moto Reve part.... that like didn't load on my computer or something.

That's pretty incredible. They learned so much so fast... and there were so many small companies making this...

Re: Joe Hunt Mag

A) What kinda bike is it?
B) Why? This is so needlessly complex.
C) I can't even imagine the tax this would place on my brain if I was charged with figuring out something similar. Actually, I guess...

Re: Joe Hunt Mag

Funny you mentioned that, because as I was puzzling this out, I thought about the guys who retard their mags on Harleys to kick. I decided that moving the mag body would be more effort and wear than...

Re: Joe Hunt Mag

Then I am not completely wrong... it's esoteric ;) And I think my offset crankpins could be made to work, too, as long as we have a machine shop and I don't have to do any of the work.

Assuming...

Re: Joe Hunt Mag

I adore this question, as it requires big thinking on two separate topics. I'll try working my way through it. Maybe with clues I can get there.

The first question (what bike is it?) is...

Re: ShovelHead connecting rods

Agree with all the above. Up-and-down play on the crankpin is no bueno, too.

I'm not far from you. Yell if you need help.

Re: The old Black Chrome, Who still does it ?

I've heard the same thing Mikey just said. Yamaha used to do something similar on their Midnight Special motorcycles.

If I was you, I'd call Lincoln Industries. They do Khrome Werks' Eclipse...

Re: 103" single loop shovelhead aka "Yakasaki Eater"

We're shitting up this thread, so hopefully Andy comes along and cleans this up before too long.

You can also add an 'l' immediately before the .jpg on any imgur link, too. But you're missing the...

Re: 103" single loop shovelhead aka "Yakasaki Eater"

I try and do it on mine, but the problem (I believe) is actually the board... it doesn't auto-resize on desktop, but will on mobile, at least for my username.

Sucks, don't it?

Re: 103" single loop shovelhead aka "Yakasaki Eater"

Love that book. It has some errors, but an excellent primer for the uninitiated.

Re: Pangor Products

I believe your UL had a snap throttle on it. Linkerts are normally not snaps, so there's no need for an idle screw...set it low and turn the grip as the bike warms.

Re: Pangor Products

Most of those have a solid throttle cable... just turn the right grip. ;)

Pangor Products

Hi.

Many of you guys (and my friends) call me Pangor. I restore and ride and sometimes race vintage motorcycles just like many of you.

I started a company called Pangor Products...

Re: '71 H-D scrap pile chop build

Triangulated sissy bar. Kind of a modern take on a Dick Allen setup.

Cool.

Re: measuring double harley throttle cable for chopper

Run a string.
Tape in place.
Mark with Sharpie.
Measure.
Order cable of that length for CV carburetor.
