Re: Help to choosing the more attractive, unique design and best vintage helmet

Mike,

Have you seen "Joe King" Helmets? they take a while, but they're very slimlined and look great on. One of the best purchases I made, had mine 5/6 years and it's still trucking!

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Problems

Anything pre 1955 shouldn't really have pressure, like BF states above, rollers need flow not pressure. Don't confuse these for car engines!

If you have good return to the oil bag, forget about...

Re: 37-39 Smooth cam chest fit my 41EL?

Thank you both.

I've seen the repops Zee, I'd want an OEM, but again as Rich said, may upset people if I run an earlier cover.. I'll keep my eyes peeled!

37-39 Smooth cam chest fit my 41EL?

I have searched and can't find a definitive answer. I really like the smooth cover, would it if I can find a good OEM one fit? I'm not well versed in variance.

thanks!

Good morning mate.

Firstly, congrats on getting her together and running.

Might be worth getting some pictures on here. Speak a 1000 words. Is it running strongly? Even with the issue with the...

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

There will be plenty in my knuck build thread. It's not 'rough' it's just less neat than yours. I've also seen a few oem frames which were real roughly brazed.

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

I didn't say it had been welded?

I stripped my frame down to bare before I sprayed it. I can assure you it's not welded.

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

Nah mines original, just not quite as neat as yours.

By far the nicest I've seen. I know it's neater than welding. I also think mine has had a few repairs.

The frame I had on my UL was repop...

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

That looks pretty real to me BF.

If it's not it's a damn good copy! I'd say real though. If the neck is not molested, may be worth checking the rake. It should be 30 degrees for bullneck....

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

To add to Pete, I've seen a few non molested 39/40 41 frames go for 8000 dollars... be hanging on to my 40 for a long time as it's all OEM!

Re: 50fl

That's a brand new coker firestone ribbed tyre I imagine. I see them quite often, super popular, not sure how great they are in the wet though!

Re: Help!!!! panhead clutch help

A wobble of the basket says to me it's not sitting or running true on the taper of the 5 finger.

I had to replace mine recently. After about 20K miles of my own and god knows how many previously...

Re: Anyone else squeezing in a last ride?

MY front rocker on my knuck has been giving me shit since I bought the engine, turns out a poor weld job took place where somebody has snapped the gallery area.

I've got a hole where the repair...

Re: Motor import to UK

With all of mine, if it wasn't notorised they wouldn't accept it mate. So i had to get them done US side.

That's my experience of course, with 3 diff companies I used.

Re: Motor import to UK

Nick,

You'll need a bill of sale which is notorised by a proper person state side, now, you pay what the bill of sale is what the additional charges will cost you over this side.

I've...

Re: Motor import to UK

Hey Nick,

Harleys didn't have the frames stamped until I believe the cone shovel era. So that's by the by in that sense. The real issue is here you'll need somebody to bang it in a box for you....

Re: NZ Shovelhead build

Excellent work mate! i've told you this 25 times, one more won't hurt.

I had the same experience with my knuck. No shimming, no nothing. Just all fell together. Super pleasing to say the least!
