Re: What frame is this?

It looks similar to the paughco frame I had with my panhead. The axle plates are very similar. The neck does look a little different though! hopefully somebody can confirm my ramblings or help you...

Re: The designated springer ID thread

What stem is it?

RL's were all 7/8 standard, also shorter than a VL. I also thought RL's were all front leg I beam.. but I'm not hugely versed on them. I know to make them fit a Big twin they need...

Re: My 69 Harley Chopper Build

Saw the youtube of you talking about your shovel and the knuck! Good to hear it's running well. Knucks do run really well if you can get the carb dialled. They do enjoy a linkert!

Re: 1945 U build- mild custom

Aside from that unfortunate issue, the bike looks fantastic, Scott. I'm sure it'll be back together sharpish and back on the right track!

Black, hopefully the info and opinions offered here give you sound mind regarding cam choice, pistons and gearing. I think as Liam has mentioned is your gearing choice and the math you'll need to get...

Re: Shovel 74" or more? Seeking sound advice!

Hey black. Welcome to the board!

Firstly, re what you currently have before you delve into options. .20 Over is going to give you probably the best part of 80+ inches, for what you're suggesting...

Re: 1951 Panhead build thread

JP,

If memory serves me right, the oil fittings you have are the same as I have on my knuck. My oil lines I purchased from W&W also did not come anywhere near fitting, it took many attempts to get...

Re: is Bruces book accurate

To follow on what's been said by Liam and others here.

This is 1930's thru 1940's. Things were not as organised or micro managed as per modern day through digitial stock taking etc. These were...

Re: Help to choosing the more attractive, unique design and best vintage helmet

Mike,

Have you seen "Joe King" Helmets? they take a while, but they're very slimlined and look great on. One of the best purchases I made, had mine 5/6 years and it's still trucking!

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge Problems

Anything pre 1955 shouldn't really have pressure, like BF states above, rollers need flow not pressure. Don't confuse these for car engines!

If you have good return to the oil bag, forget about...

Re: 37-39 Smooth cam chest fit my 41EL?

Thank you both.

I've seen the repops Zee, I'd want an OEM, but again as Rich said, may upset people if I run an earlier cover.. I'll keep my eyes peeled!

37-39 Smooth cam chest fit my 41EL?

I have searched and can't find a definitive answer. I really like the smooth cover, would it if I can find a good OEM one fit? I'm not well versed in variance.

thanks!

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

There will be plenty in my knuck build thread. It's not 'rough' it's just less neat than yours. I've also seen a few oem frames which were real roughly brazed.

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

I didn't say it had been welded?

I stripped my frame down to bare before I sprayed it. I can assure you it's not welded.

Re: 46 U Bullneck Frame Question

Nah mines original, just not quite as neat as yours.

By far the nicest I've seen. I know it's neater than welding. I also think mine has had a few repairs.

The frame I had on my UL was repop...
