You'll need a bill of sale which is notorised by a proper person state side, now, you pay what the bill of sale is what the additional charges will cost you over this side.

Re: Motor import to UK

Hey Nick,

Harleys didn't have the frames stamped until I believe the cone shovel era. So that's by the by in that sense. The real issue is here you'll need somebody to bang it in a box for you....

Re: NZ Shovelhead build

Excellent work mate! i've told you this 25 times, one more won't hurt.

I had the same experience with my knuck. No shimming, no nothing. Just all fell together. Super pleasing to say the least!

Re: 68 Generator shovel clutch slipping and tranny noise

I had to make a thrust washer, for mine too. It's very much trial and error. Going to a pigsnout from my jammer there's no issue at all with this one.

Re: Powder or paint?

Another for paint. I like my bikes looking used though, a few chips don't concern me, alas, you can also easily touch them in as mentioned above.

Depends what you want from it I guess? I painted...

Re: 68 Generator shovel clutch slipping and tranny noise

That'll defnitely work. It was a Jammer cover that gave me the issue, they're not quite the same as the OG covers in shape or size. The shim I used was wafer thin!

Re: 68 Generator shovel clutch slipping and tranny noise

Off the top of my head JP, I did the same putting the washer inside, I think I shimmed it then about 4 thou.. give or take and it never caused me issue after that.

Re: 68 Generator shovel clutch slipping and tranny noise

+1 for what Jon said, it's great stuff!

I haven't had it with OEM covers, but the jammer I had on my 40 tranny needed a load of shimming, did like yours is doing non stop.

Glad the spring is...

Re: 68 Generator shovel clutch slipping and tranny noise

With the kicker gear, they sometimes require a little more shimming, or the spring behind the dog gear could be tired.

That repair and touch up is spot on!

Precursor to my query - the engine roughly has 1100 miles on it. Everything has been retorqued, no intake leaks, all buttoned up.

When riding for a period of...
