Re: Flathead build "the white horse"
Ah, that's gonna be fun. I'm not crazy about the low-tunneled fuel tank (although the tank itself is swell); but, y'know, fuck what I think. It'll be a nice bike.
White all over kind of makes me...

Re: The designated springer ID thread
Thank you. (I forgot about it too.)
Pretty sure I've never seen I-beam front legs before. Says here (Wiki) that the RL was produced 1932-36. Were the forks exclusive to that model, anybody know?

Re: Triumph
How'd I miss that post?
It looks really good. Your peg-and-pipe mounts look stock, which I assume was the goal.

Re: New here, new year!
Hlo Hannes, welcome.
I suspect many of us JJ lounge lizards hardly ever visit the Introductions thread. I don't. Anyway, sorry you got a cold (or at least silent) reception.

Re: Almost !! 66 BSA 500 Single project
Always liked their looks. Have you had them before? Do they merit their bad reputation in stock form (or in any form)?
Thanks for showing. Sounded healthy.

Re: Wayne Engineering frame clone
Oh, heh. "Meriden, CT, USA" not "BSA."
Did you change the angle where the bottom chainstays depart from the back downtube? The original frame looks a little bowlegged, inelegant. Yours looks...

Re: My Pre-unit project.
Big improvement! Any chance you're going to clean up the sliders, i.e. cut those (?) reflector mounts off?
Nice work.

Re: OIF Triumph semi-restoration
Do I deduce correctly that the engine is a '71? My favorite. The rest of the '71, not so much ... at all ... but I'm glad you've started another of your good threads.

Re: Bsa A10 650 Chopper
I wouldn't want you to get your creativity/approach constrained by looking at the thread linked below. And I sure don't mean to imply that you couldn't build an excellent girder without referring to...

Re: Bastard Speed Twin build
If memory serves, the '52 I rode (50 years ago) had a non-synchronized transmission. Is that amenable to upgrading without a great deal of work?
'Course, I'm not even sure that memory *does*...

Re: The designated springer ID thread
Hey, Gonzo. If it's no inconvenience, would you post a pic or two of the whole springer (as opposed to detail shots)? A side view and a full-frontal would be swell. Thanks.

Re: Bsa A10 650 Chopper
Jocke. In your first post, the sixth imageshows a built-up or welded-on flat-topped panel on the neck. It strongly suggests a place for a VIN (vehicle identification number) to be stamped. Is this...

Re: Old Tools Thread
These (first two pics) are repros. But Bugatti did manufacture them, and use them in their factory. No visible holddowns = there's an unseen stud to secure the vise to a workbench.
