Re: 1971 BSA B50T 20" universal knobby

Take a look at Shinko SR 241 and Heidenau K67. Those have the tread design of mid '60's vintage style trials tires.

Re: Almost !! 66 BSA 500 Single project

It's looking good there Wade. Always really liked the '68 & '70 Victors I had. Owning a Victor they say you are a victim, in reference to if you don't put the piston in the right place before the...

Re: Cleaning tank sealer

Sheetrock screws since they have sharp edges and Acetone have worked well for me. The Acetone will wipe out a paint job.

Re: Powder or paint?

I powdercoat everything I can on my re-builds and restorations It looks good and holds up great. I use JB Weld for dent repairs before powder coating as it will withstand the powdercoat oven temps.

Re: Ignition recommendation for BSA A65

The setup will require the 6CA points plate, points, condensors, as well as the associated AAU. The condensors will need to be mounted remotely as they are factory mounted on a bracket on the frame...

Re: Ignition recommendation for BSA A65

You have it right. The 6CA's are a step better in that the points are adjusted separately without effecting the other point setting.

Re: Ignition recommendation for BSA A65

If you want to stay with standard points, put the 6CA points plate in which is '68 and newer. Far easier to set the timing, etc.

Re: show me your flat trackers and desert racers

Good info there on H-D racing history for those not in the know. That image of the Sportster off-roader, looks light in weight. Probably goes like "stink".

I wonder though about the lack of...

Re: show me your flat trackers and desert racers

I got the weight down to 415 pounds via use of carbon fiber, aluminum, chromoly, fiberglass, and minimalistic lighting. That's 83 pounds off of the original machine. Now with a 1250 big bore kit...

Re: 1966 Bsa 650 on a budget

I have had great success with using JB Weld for filling in areas prior to powder coating. It will withstand the oven heat.

Have used it on several BSA frames prior to powder coating.

Re: White spark plugs out of nowhere?? running lean??

The spark plug in the first image looks to be on the rich side to me. It's real dark along the rim at the top of the threads. Kind of depends what fuel you run. As an example, I run 100LL AVGAS,...

Re: battery only at 12. volts

I utilize a Lithium battery on the '89 Sportster tracker here. It's been 3 years since the battery replaced the AGM. It's still going strong. The lithium weighs less than 3 pounds, 14 pounds less...

Re: Relays for LEDís???

As the others have posted, no relays are needed. If your LEDs are 12 volt you are fine. They are ready to install. If they are typical LEDs then they will be 2 to 5 volts, so you will need to add...
