Give it a GOOD washing, then wash it out again, let it dry, stick your nose in and if you smell any gas wash it again.

Welcome to The Journal! You say you took the cam chest cover off and a gear (or two?)came off with the cover. Do you take the cover off often? do you know which gears came off?

I think I got it nailed down. Got about 1/8 play at the handlebar,1/16th at the basket and i can pull the lever with one finger. My clutch springs are set at 1 inch...

Hello all,
Went to adjust the pushrods on my '74 shovel and the manual says to run the pushrod down till the lifter is completely compressed. What exactly does that mean?They're hydraulic lifters.

My 47 EL is a 61". FL's,if I remember correctly, were 74 cubic inches. According to what I've read only 4354 EL's and ES's were produced in 1947. I can't call that gospel but I'm sure someone here...
