Re: Cracked rear left motor mount hole

If you do have someone local and can photo document the work/welding with engine assembled, please do and attach here.

Re: Cracked rear left motor mount hole

Yes, you are...but this thread is evidence that the JJ is still good, particularly when Jaws breaks your balls about wood screws. That shit is funny.

Re: Bring JJ back to life!!

What used to have this Board hopping in the past was urgent and interesting tech questions and equally good tech support by active members who know their shit and are willing to diagnose something...

Re: Kick start 1960 panhead

By any chance are you running a Super B?

If so, a possible intake leak coupled with a Super B could be the source of your issue. Although I love me a B, Id lean to the intake leak being your...

Re: Tank coating removal

The KBS aircraft stripper works great, but its caustic as fuck. Follow the directions to a tee and it will remove any sealant that's in there. If you have paint you wish to save, be careful, this...

Re: Cone shovel with a bottom end click noise?

My guess is a roller as well....

However, if the pinion and cam gears arent the proper matched size, you may be experiencing a gear lash issue. Typically, when they are too tight you should get a...

Re: Genny Shovel Clutch question

If Im not mistaken, I believe the difference is in the shape of the dawgs in the clutch basket versus the clutch plate/steels. Some clutch baskets use the squared dawgs while others use the round...

Re: Shovelhead dies when hot, I'm out of ideas

Advance weights....check the advance weights and springs. Did you replace the advance weights when installing the Dyna S?

Re: Bt brake on Vl springer

Typically, you will need to machine/cut the right side (non-brake side) spacer between the star hub and the rocker, and particularly if you bought yourself a Vtwin axle kit. Additionally, you may...

Re: Left Side Drum Wide Glide Axle?

I think the issue you may be dealing with has to do with the first "step" in the middle of the axle. On the lathe, you should be able to turn this "step" back a tad toward the clamping side to allow...

Re: Anarchy13 Engine Assembly Thread

Far left pic looks like a valve seal.

The seal in the bottom left (of the photo on the right) looks like a dual flange hub wheel bearing seal. The others...not sure

Here's the thing, early wide glide internals...

Here's the thing, early wide glide internals changed in late 77-up. Im almost positive you cannot buy a progressive drop in kit for the 49-77 era glide forks.

Here's shot of mine. Its an early...

Re: fork cut necessary?

Appears to be an early wide glide...If so, there are no drop-in kits for that on the market, that I have come across.

Typically you cut your fork tubes, re-machine the cap threads, or, go to...

Re: S&S Super E is driving me nuts

Dont rely on the "spray" test to check for intake leaks. Pressure test your intake to be sure you've secured ANY leaks.

You'd be surprised when you pressure test it that you'll find small air...

Re: Slabside Shovelhead

If you're 180deg off, then you may also be timing it on the fat lobe of the points cam. Be sure when static timing it that you're on front cylinder compression and timing it off the advance...

Re: S&S Super E is driving me nuts

For a hanging idle, any chance your throttle assembly is loose on your bars? is the throttle cable binding anywhere?

Also, adjust your cable so you have just a bit of slack at the attachment to...

There is a thread here (of which I havent searched) that I generated that speaks to your issue with timing a snap mag. Please search to see if you can find it and read the thread carefully.

Re: Ways to make shovelhead clutch easier to pull?

If you want "old school" go with a mousetrap. When setup properly, its a one finger pull.
