Re: T-MAC Terror Shovel Build

You can also get rubber straps to secure your wiring...and they won't scratch your paint.

Re: Thank you from a 39 Triumph

Dope. And I love that fact that after all the heart and soul you put into restoring it, you still ride it.

Re: Small city cycles born free 4 pre unit

So ridiculously perfect. It looks like a toy model, I think mine is going out to the street tonight to be lit afire and put out with a chain.

Re: Triumph Fork Problem

Get fork oil! It is completely different than motor oil and will actually allow your fork to cycle properly. It is available at most motorcycle shops and is relatively affordable. I have been using...

Re: Triumph Fork Problem

Just took a quick measurement...my bike stock is 21" from center of axle to the bottom of the lower tree, when the forks all fully topped out.

Re: Triumph Fork Problem

Drain the 20W50. Take fork apart and clean. Replace with fork oil in correct weight. Reset the tweak bar height, and ride.

Re: Triumph Fork Problem

Top outs occur usually for two reasons, to much compression or to little rebound. Did it get worse after you added more compression? What weight of oil are you using? I use 15 weight oil in the later...

Re: absolutely stuck

Can you post a pic or two? They will spin as the fork tubes are separated by bronze bushings from the lowers. Can you get the legs to slide into the lowers at all?

Re: absolutely stuck

undo the seal holders at the top of the lower, clamp the lowers in a vice (I used a piece of steel as an axle to clamp to), and use a slide hammer with a threaded insert in the top of the fork tube....
