Re: Triumph wiring mess

Glad you got it figured out. I'm still messing around with the wiring in my '68.

Re: Dumb Evo question.

Thanks for the info! Yes, left tank cap has a gauge.
I kinda figured this to be an anti-evo forum but I hoped someone would know. I'll keep my posts to my Triumph project from now on. :)

Dumb Evo question.

Just made a deal to buy a stock '96 Heritage Softail and I'll be picking it up on Thursday. Just curious as to what kind of range they have with a full tank. Also, is the left gas cap a dummy on this...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

Need Louvers got it right. Late 60's Triumph/BSA front end with about a 6" extension. In stock form they have a rubber bellows covering the springs.

No luck firing it up on the weekend. I need to...

Re: What's it worth

You may have gotten better help if you'd said what kind of engine it was in your first post.

Re: 81 Shovelhead Deliverance

That looks a lot better! Hopefully nothing else on the bike was that fucked up. Otherwise looks like you have a nice canvas to create something on.
Btw...my new Triumph project came out of...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

Thanks! I'm really digging the compactness of the bike. It'll be interesting to see what it rides like. With a little luck I'll have it running this weekend.

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

It's odd in that the top leg doesn't follow the lines of the backbone, it drops down. The bottom legs are in almost a straight line with the lower legs of the frame. I've never seen one done that way...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

Thanks anyway, but I might be okay. A local buddy of mine may have a spare carb or two that I can scavenge for parts. I'll know later today.

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

Thank you, Frisco. Thanks for the link, too. That site looks like it will be a big help.

Yes...I bought this bike with the hopes it will help get me through the summer. Lots of "interesting" days...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

Thanks Dale!
I have no idea when the bike was last run, but the fellow I bought it from had drained all the gas so it was nice and dry when I got it. He never had it running.
I pulled the carbs...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

It's definitely an unusual hardtail section. With the bags on I'm really starting to like the look. I'll keep everything pretty much as-is for this summer, then I may start making a few changes.

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

I think I'll leave the pad and bags on the bike as I like the overall look of them, plus the bags will come in handy when running errands around town. I do want to build a new fender support that's a...

Re: Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

The fender struts will probably be replaced, they're a little small for my liking. However, I don't plan to ever have a passenger on the bike so they may be okay. ...

Back in the game...with a 650 Bonneville.

After selling my 1200 Sporty five years ago I didn't think I'd ever get another bike. Insurance in my province is stupidly expensive. However, after the loss of my wife to cancer a couple of months...

Re: Boydwho intro

Thank you.
I'll probably be pestering the members with stupid questions over the next little while. It's been 25 years since I've owned a British bike and I've forgotten a lot!

Re: The "Barn Find". When will it end?

Not a barn find, but this 650 Bonny bobber was sitting in a garage across the street from my brother's house in an affluent neighbourhood. The owner liked to "tinker" with British cars and thought...

Damn...haven't visited this board since '07 so I thought I'd bring back my original introduction and try this again.
