Re: The Toad... '78 Shovelhead

As Dutch noted, i too like "the barn fresh look" you are going for. True mechanical art. Even the new parts, you have aged to perfection, please explain the technique you used on the nose cone a mag,...

Re: A quality Bates-type headlight

Be nice to see a photo of this particularly bothersome headlamp. I have re-riveted the housing to the base with good success using buck rivets and a pneumatic gun.

Re: '55 panhead french build

I really enjoy seeing all the bits and pieces that JJ posters dream up for their bikes often from stuff that is just laying around the shop. Lots of good examples here, nice work!

Re: 1966 Bsa 650 on a budget

Re: a little "shut in" work

Nice work on the inspection cover. Matches nicely to the derby cover.

Re: Alt left case Gen R case motor?

Well that is great news to hear that this can be a solid lasting engine!

The air from the crankcase is not an issue I can't live with, I was just wondering if perhaps this is normal and if I...

Re: Alt left case Gen R case motor?

Re: Alt left case Gen R case motor?

I am running an engine within the years for the best combination as described in the post, a '62 right and a '72 left and '68 heads (not sure about the jugs). I purchased the motor assembled in a...

Re: 41 el

Two fine looking scoots! I couldn't part with the flatty. The UL engine has been my favorite, forever.

I really like the profile and the shape of the fish tails, I think the length works. One...

Re: 41 el

Looks like the lower front cylinder pipe angle might be a little low for one and you could try a block off wood with a heavy hammer straightening out the angle a bit and the tab on the squissy...

Re: 41 el

It's gonna be a sweet looking ride and I thought you'd already nailed it with the flatty. This is my favorite classic look, simple and clean black.

Re: 41 el

Cool bike and I really dig the pipes! Too bad you have to get rid off the flatty, that is a bitchin' ride as well. Well done!
