Re: What is this buddy seat from?
That's most of the shit you'll need; good to have.
You'll need buddy pegs and peg brackets, of course.
As far as missing things for the seat, it depends what you are putting it on. That looks...

I just got finished doing this conversion on a bike, what a pain.

Re: What is this buddy seat from?
Looks like standard HD to me... it doesn't have the Pan-era reinforcement plate at the back, so either repop or Knuck.
What isn't lining up?

Re: MM74E Problems No fire.....
I would be curious to hear what happens, if you got time to fill us in on the gory details.
Dave's a pretty helpful feller.

Re: Repair Pan case cracks around cam bushing?
That thing is a shitshow. Mike does great work. He is as close to a wizard as you can ask for. Call him and he'll give you a timeline. He's a good friend. If he says he can do it, his word is bond.

Nothing fancy, just a ground box section. Useful for Flathead cylinder base nuts. I usually pull the genny, but if you toss a bend in this wrench, that's not...

Dale Walksler has died
Another one of the heavies in the world of old motorcycles has left us.
Dale Walksler (Dale's Harley-Davidson, Dale's Wheels Through Time Museum) has left us after a multi-year bout with cancer.

Re: The designated springer ID thread
I just sent pics of that front leg to a buddy the other day. That thing is neat. He's extending an I-beam right now, and that one popped into my head.
I wonder if that's not some sort of flat...

Re: Musings on the SU carb
Maybe I'm a bit stupid, then. Tipping this bike to either side does not assist in getting it started.
A float bowl with a tickler for SUs exists. Maybe I'll see if I can't scare one up.

Re: 1977 ironhead battery??
If you measure and such, you can find common battery "footprints" and terminal locations and find the one that works for your custom battery box. I can help you with that if needed. Personally, I...

Re: Musings on the SU carb
The bike's not really a hard starter, it just needs its mix richened like every other ICE on the planet.
I can use an enema pump (as Ratso said) to mystify onlookers and shock friends. Who...

Re: 1945 U build- mild custom
You're smoothing the area from intake valve to piston and piston to exhaust valve to help straighten the path the air/fuel mix (and what later becomes the exhaust) has to travel.

Re: Musings on the SU carb
From a practical standpoint, I can tell you that has never worked for me.
But I am interested in learning what I may be missing from a theoretical one. I believe a tickler only works on the HIF...
