Re: Project: NorField

That's a good idea, I never thought to do that.

What about machining the top yoke down a bit? At 1.95" / 49.5mm thick she could stand to lose some material, but what's the minimal thickness and...

Re: Project: NorField

The oil tank is pretty close to the factory style, just has cutout for the carburetors and has been narrowed.

Welp, I wasn't liking how the new side panel was turning out so another one was made, this time it has some super cool totally custom pinstriping too.

Re: Project: NorField

Is it next week yet?

Spent the better portion of today on the tank again. At this rate I'll pass the project on to my children's children to finish up.

This is turning into a slimmer sprint...

Get to know the mechanic, during some maintenance or repairs the fuel system requires draining, since it cannot be re-used see if it can be purchased for cheap or even for free!
Had a weekend turbo...

Re: Project: NorField

It's centered between both top and lower triple tree and looks pretty killer when viewed from the front, side profile not so much.
Dropping it down a few inches will place it just above the license...

Re: Project: NorField

Sounds like you understand the struggle too.
Modifying the frame is a last resort as the initial idea was to keep it mostly factory yet would solve so many problems, like bringing the neck down or...

Re: Project: NorField

No worries dude, been staring, obsessing over this damn bike for far too long I start to get tunnel vision and neglect the BIG picture; opinions and suggestions from fresh eyes are very welcome.

Re: Project: NorField

Trying to decide the full width of the tank.
With legs tucked in against the tank the widest drawn section shown in the last two photos sits about 1/2" past the knees.

Still debating that...

Re: Project: NorField

Alright, more tank progress. Since the last update it's been nothing but an uphill battle making my first tank. Was hoped that a something close or identical to a G50/7R tank was possible but alas I...

Re: Angry Monkey Motorcycles LONG bike Build thread

There is nothing I don't like about this bike, all the details and fab work is super slick. 10/10 would ride the shit out of.

Re: Fried 2 batteries this weekend...

Replace the regulator, it shouldn't allow anything over 14.5 volts max, overcharging is...
