Re: Unity headlight - Model number?

Thanks both, I've found out what it is now!

It's a H1, which is a very early one made in Chicago! got it for less than 30 dollars too.

I'm looking for a specific unity headlight for my project, I can't seem to find a model number for it.

Hoping one of you esteemed gents will know of it?

At last! great to see some real handy products!!

I've yet to find a good idler adjuster for link carbs, I'd love a long one (oo err) so you don't need to burn to do it..

Re: Confused about brake drums

My mech brake has never been anything but spot on. I also find it less bitey than juice drums.. The pan used to lock up all the time... the mech I can feather much easier!

Re: A properly tuned stock Panhead.......

All of my big twins have been 1/2 kicks hot or cold. Call bullshit all you like, I've ridden 1000's of miles on them. Timing, Intake.. sort those they will run like watches.

Spot on.. My UL looked like it's running lean when after 2000 miles turns out it was a tad rich, I leaned it out a little and it pulls a lot harder! even though.. using my father (Old...

Re: A properly tuned stock Panhead.......

I'd say it's an issue with the bike.. they're definitely not all like that.

Re: 1951 Panhead build thread

Unfortunately not that I know of! Somebody on here might tell you otherwise with far more experience than myself but I think you're tied to it.

I agree, I wouldn't ever have a juice again either...

Re: 1951 Panhead build thread

JP!

Congrats on the parts. Sadly the Mid star and mechanical drum doesn't work as far as I know. The Mid star needs bearing support on the one side which there's no provision for with a starhub....

Re: Getting into a 53 FL- anybody know some stuff?

From my experiences with pre 55 pans which went to the timken bottom end as you rightfully mentioned. There's a way to upgrade to post 55 timken but it's a lot of work, you may get away with a light...
