Hmmm... My turn to stand corrected. Sorry Liam. My focus has been on the DG; for some reason I thought it was the first dual belt model, although I have a complete Sturgis drive train on the shelf......

The '80-83 FXB and FXSB were belt primary and chain final.
The '83 FXDG (Willy G's custom FXWG) was dual belt; earlier FXWG's were chain/chain, and later ones were chain/belt.

Drag bikes typically run belt primary and chain secondary.

The problem with fuses is you can go through a lot of them while troubleshooting a fault; not good at 2am on backroads... A blade type circuit breaker is a cheap problem solver:
