JP, How about putting a spacer underneath the lower neck bearing and shortening the crown nut the same amount? I think you could milk an inch of extension out of that with a little lathe work.

There is a gentleman in the Midwest, Ohio I think who makes forged extended VL I-Beam legs. I think Snodgrass is his name. W&W offers their VL springer in a bare steel version or just the rear legs...

Very well done. Before clear coating you can fill in Small chips with model kit paint. It comes in all colors.
