Re: Steering damper with small size chains?
I'm not talking about a steering damper either. I'm talking about fork stops that will keep the front wheel from going all the way to 90 degrees (or beyond) and throwing him ass-over-tea-kettle if it...

Re: Steering damper with small size chains?
Safe... how? The chains will stop the front-end from flopping all the way over and smashing the tank when stopped, but if it ever goes into a "tank slapper" due to wonky front-end geometry or any...

Re: Aftermarket or HD transmission???
Yes it should fit. The 5 speed gear set in my early Twin Cam came out of a pre-'99 Softail case.
Depending on the year of the stock H-D gear set, you might want to use the Baker anti-overshift...

Re: Help to Ident frame and components
I'm far from an authority on the subject but it has been my experience that most if not all of the billet wheels from that time period were drilled for the same bolt pattern as stock rotors. For some...

The page below contains some good information that can help you decide whether or not to add an oil filter to your classic Brit as well as when it's okay to run detergent motor oil and when it's not...

Re: Blown 45 build
I did a good bit of this when I could still see. Argon purge is best and will keep the weld from "sugaring" on the inside. Run the Argon in through the petcock and tape off the filler hole, then put...

Re: Remote Oil Filters Designed For Motorcycles
Dan,
Thanks for the kind words. Tech is always good in my book and more information is better information as far as I'm concerned. Even if it were information that I might find uncomfortable, that...

Thanks for asking. Yes, I'm still alive and kicking and everything is still available. I also have everything in matte black powdercoat now.

Very sad to hear. I didn't know him at all and never had any interaction with him other than reading his threads on here but the cat was indeed an inspiration. He definitely turned a lot of oddball...

Re: BMW R100RS fairing CUSTOMIZATION
I'm sad to report that I have no inspiration for you, other than to say that I for one hope you post a thread full of pics on here when the work commences. The Ritmo Sereno bikes above are beautiful.

Re: Broken drive chain experience
I broke several as a very young man. Bad riding habits and even worse maintenance habits will do that. The only one that did any real damage was to my brother's race bike. Tore up the case and my...

Re: Remote Oil Filters Designed For Motorcycles
Mike,
You definitely want it in the return. Horizontal, vertical or canted is fine. You do need to use care and run a filter that is free-flowing enough. Anything that will work on a Harley Evo...

Re: Modern Canister Filter on Triumph
Every particle caught in a remote filter is a particle that didn't end up in the sludge trap or endlessly circulate throughout the engine because it was too "light" to be caught in the sludge trap to...

Re: Should I replace the rear loop on my '68?
You really ARE sick if you want to change that beauty up. It looks like it's more fun than people are allowed to have, just as it sits. Yeah, there are lots of 'trackers out there, but there damn...
