Thanks. I'm thinkin of bustin out the dial caliper and measuring to see if there's a difference, but they're WAYYYY over in the pole barn..

Newer style peddles will work, I think mine is off a Road King. The only issue is theres no stop on the peddle. So I ground through the chrome and built up a spot with weld.....

HAHA, both, it does OK around town, just never get 6th. And 6th is just a little tall for anything under 65 mph. And even then, it can only hold the speed, and forget any kind of uphill grade.....

The breather times up way closer to the timing marks then I imagined... Makes ya wonder why HD did'nt just put the mark on the breather (oil pump) at the location where it all timed up together.

Did you time the breather to the cam marks or the timing marks? Your problem sounds just like mine and I think I have it narrowed down to that. Breather timed to the cams makes for high bottom end...

Fat bobs on a Harley stock have left and right thread caps, the right tank is vented, the left is not. The difference in thread keeps you from mixing up the two caps...

to static time you have to lock the advance weights in the advanced position, then set your break. You can lock the weights by putting a washer under the bolt that holds the advance unit on.......
