I had some of that on my list so it's good to know what else I should be checking.
The tires do need to be replaced some time soon, but I've been having a lot of fun riding it...

Good news - I looked for the other belly number today. With the engine cold and with the help of daylight it was easy to find. The numbers on each side match so there's that.

I am new at the deep history, but from the numbers on the motor and frame (on the neck) match and decode it as a '74, but sites I've found say the factory cross over was on 75 & 76..?

It does have a four speed. Where is the center screw? Sorting out the shifting is top of my list. The seller mentioned it used to have a hand shift on the right that was converted to left side foot...
