that ebay bike is model BEJ = 250 = model 2 of 1950 = Scout vertical 440cc
the motor is surplus model 741 (GDA) , bored out to 2.750" x 3.0625" for 600cc

seems a shame to use as a display. seems the tappet blocks are positioned specific to the inlet of OG cylinder. new J cylinders are for sale in australia.

HD sprocket taper?

does anyone know the taper angle for motor shaft on the sprocket end ??

1930 to 1954 HD #24001-30 before splines came along .

the flywheel end info is readily available Jims catalog , CC etc...

I recieved an email from a guy in australia whos restoring the same crank cases and cams etc .
I just thought maybe Kryckan would sell what hes got to this other guy as spares just to see the parts...

from what I can see theres no anchoring for the plate other than 3 oclock or 9 oclock
theres definitely a chrome ring . Ive tried finding a pic of stock 249 plate on ebay . most pics of resto 249...

bike = 1949 - 52 vertical scout twin

would any of you guys be able to identify the rear brake plate on this bike ?

its not factory . I thought maybe it was modified 741 front or chief rear...
