Re: Triumph frame offset.

Eugene, I think there are a number of reasons they aren't asymmetric. First and foremost is guys who put a hardtail on their bike do it for looks, and if it's asymmetric you will have two...

Re: Triumphs I.D. Thread.

Here are a few quick and easy ways to identify Triumphs:
If the shifter is right by the kicker, it's a 500cc, if it's about 3 inches forward (toward the timing cover) it's a 650cc or a 750cc; if...

Re: 1963 Triumph T100 value?? (pics attached)

AZ does NOT just give out titles, it has become a huge pain here. At best you can get a bonded title, which cost about $400. So the frame and title is worth about $600 around here. And this has a...

Re: JCC/Hepolite piston problem Triumph T140V

Gotta agree with Tony (he's right 99% of the time). This one is all on you, you must install things properly if you want them to work properly.
I use JCC pistons all the time, but I use Grant...

Re: Angry Monkey Motorcycles

Really??? Are they worth it? yes. Were the actors on "friends" worth one million an episode? yes, because that's how much they got paid. If there is a shop that is booked amost two years out,...

Re: HORN question

I just put a horn on my last no battery bike, and haven't had any issues. I bought a cheap-o one from parts unlimited (I think) for around $8, and wired it into the lighting circuit, I have a three...

Re: T120R Engine Build - Sanity Check

750 rods, and the regular 750 cylinders, it's what Triumph went with in '73 ish. The issue with the 750 "big bore" is that the piston speed is too high, so the shorter rods slow that down. I have...

Re: T120R Engine Build - Sanity Check

If you are doing all of that, why not go with a short rod 750? It's a much better set up.

Re: Triumph wet sumping mystery

It is not a rotary pump it is a plunger pump made by Morgo. They designed theirs based on the stock later model pump (stock on this bike). I do not reuse oil pumps because I have had too many...

Re: Triumph wet sumping mystery

No, I was talking about the timing side seal.

I have had smoke from rings, that is not what this is, or at least does not explain the extra 100-150 ml in the crank case after running for about...

Re: Triumph wet sumping mystery

It's more like 20-30 at idle. I haven't actually got it tuned in yet, because of the sumping issue.

The reason I think it's sumping is because I'm pulling 150-250 cc out of the crankcase....

Triumph wet sumping mystery

I have a '76 T140 that is wet sumping. This is a ground up rebuilt custom bike with a new Morgo oil pump. So here is the issue: start the bike, it runs great, after about 30 - 45 seconds it starts...

Re: Triumph cams, decision time, Help.

If you are doing all of that I would suggest a short rod 750, they are much better than the 750 bolt-on. I have noticed very little improvement with a 750 bolt-on as opposed to a short rod.

WTB late model (OIF) gas tank

I am looking for a late model Triumph gas tank. It must be a smooth top (no rib down the middle), and must have no dents. I am going to run it bare metal, so dents are a no no.
thanks

Re: Stolen pre-unit returned after 46 years

I am wondering if anyone knows how a bonded title would deal with this. From my understanding the previouse owner would get the bond and the buyer would get the bike. In short the bond is there to...
