If I had to take a half-whitted guess, it's because they're (HD) likely Butyl rubber seals, (Synthetic rubber) which you can run any fluid in it you want.

You're right.

2004 FL models were DOT-5.

My 2005 FLHTC is DOT-4 . .... and there were countless issues and returns with powdercoated master caps leaking and pealing paint on the front and...

It has nothing in common in that it's not silicone based. It's still glycerine based, but it performs at the same rates as DOT-5.

You can get CV parts at most dealerships and indy shops. Mik parts aren't carried by everyone. At least not in my area. CV is good to 90-95 HPs. I think it's preference. I love CVs. I know guys...

The end with the hinge pin is inserted in the rim, once the tire bead is broken.

The notch in that end, faces the rim.

Pull the tool toward the spokes, pulling the tire out from the rim....
