- Biography
- Born in South Jersey. Served in the Vietnam War. Rode a variety of Jap bikes. Found a 1937 Harley UL behind a barn in 1970 and my life changed.
Broke a leg on a Triumph in Frankfurt, Germany. 1973, The army put me out, "temp" retired, 1974-76. Operated a cycle repair shop in South Jersey during that time. Helped to found the Seaboard Chapter, Antique Motorcycle Club of America, in South Jersey, in 1974.
Army recalled me. Commanded Tanks and worked in JAG offices for the army until they retired me, permanently this time, almost 30 years ago, now. While at Fort Meade, Md., helped found Chesapeake Chapter, AMCA. Later at Fort Knox, Ky, helped found the "Ohio Valley Chapter" (the Ohio River flows by Kentucky)
The Veterans Administration sent me to college (U. of Louisville) until I wuz tol' I wuz a gradjut.
While I was an undergraduate there, I found the love of my life, Lisa Vale. We edited and published some motorcycle-related publications in Ky. and Conn. (On The Road, the KBA bi-monthly newsletter, 1986 to 1991 and American Iron Magazine, 1991. Both became Life Members of the Kentucky Biker Association (KMA)
Worked in Engineering, drawing blueprints for Mickey Mouse "Imagineers" at Walt Disney World in Florida. Both of us became Life Members of ABATE of Florida (Inc.). Retired again, permanently this time, in 2010.
Still own and ride that barn-find Harley. I'm a Senior Judge in the AMCA.
