Jesse Stewart, owner of DRAGSTEWS, grew up in Glasgow, KY. He started learning mechanics at an early age from his father who was a mechanical engineer. Jesse was Senior Mechanic for the State of KY. & worked for Rolco Manufacturing where he learned the trade of welding. During this time he opened his motorcycle shop "Stewarts Kustom Fabrications" and after a few years quit the state job. He operated this shop for 20 years.
In 1998 he first moved to FL. & worked for Bikers Dream in Clearwater, FL. Then Staz Motorcycles heard about him & offered him a position with their company & moved him to Las Vegas, NV. After a few years with them, he decided to open his own shop again. He founded Dragstews Precision Motorsports in 2002. His shop was located one block off the strip behind The Palms casino. He recently relocated to FL. to move closer to family & opened DRAGSTEWS in Belleview March 2009.
You can find an article about his 1952 pan/shovel head in S&S Cycles "Performance Times" Dec. 2004 magazine. (He has owned this bike since the '60's.) His '52 took 1st place in "Best in Shovel Head" & won "Best in Show" July 2008 at the Southern CAL Chop Meet in Victorville, CA. He even let "Chopper Dave" (who hosted the event & presented him the awards) ride it! He wanted to check out the 'Speed-E-Shift'! An engine Jesse built in Vegas on a '49 pan took 'Best in Show' at "smoke Out West 3" in AZ. & an article on this bike & owner appeared in the Dec 08/ Jan 09 issue of "The Horse-Back Street Choppers" Jesse also owns a 1992 Buell, #17 hand built by Eric Buell.
