The elbow on the main jet is how they come stock. The straight one has been cut to be run with a float bowl extension. You cut the elbow off, and add a small piece of tube that slips over the end of the main jet, and add an extended fuel bowl. They are made for "strokers" but I run the extension on about every SU I run. It ensures you don't starve the carb from fuel.
If you have enough room with your tanks, you can run the downswept intake either way, up or down. For a kick only bike, I would run the straight manifold, or run the intake upswept. Fuel flows downhill better for intial startup. Sixball |

And I forgot to add........ You have an SU that has been gone thru by Riverria Engineering. It has the tickler on it. They bought up SU's and converted them for use on bikes. The tickler is the proof.
