Pearls and Ribbons can be the Nor.Cal. "manifesto".
![]() and never forget Cycleology and Century Enterprises, they ruled!!! ![]() ![]() but all them start from Doug "the Thug" Orr's scooter, 1967, pic by Irving Penn. you can see here... http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=68488 |

a few more...not always stock frames, hardtails and custom frames but with a distinctive stance that says NorCal. My opinion, the definitive "Frisco" bikes.
Except for the pegs and jockey shift, the Knuckle is a beautiful example of this style. |

that knuck has some very nice features, like the cut down sportster rear fender. the neck looks like it was deraked too
love it!

Don't think it's "deraked", maybe just not raked. Appears to be a heavily reworked VL frame, so maybe it does have less than the 30* or so of rake we're used to.

My pleasure.
I was still swiming in my Dad's nut sack when this bike was around so it's all pictures and stories to me. The coolest part to me, other than all the wheelies this thing did, was that in it's orange version, the front of the gas tank had two pig's in cop hat fucking each other. I am waiting for a pic of that to pop up but it hasn't happened yet. |

I consider this Nor Cal, although the frame is raked, it has that super skinny springer front end and pull back bars. I have many more pics from street Choppers and the like which I need to get scanned. I have to agree that it's my favourite style of chopper.

Here's mine built in the late '70s in Frisco. '40 knuckle stock frame, mustang tank, lower half of the front fender turned up and ran on the rear and a XA springer.
