Hey I recently bought a 2006 Sportster and I am looking to make it more low profile. I want to put on some short risers and drag bars, but I am not sure how short of a riser I can put on there and still have the speedometer clear the gas tank. If anyone knows the shortest riser possible or has any ideas I would appreciate the help. Thanks guys.

Does the speedo bolt to the risers like this?
How would it interfere with the tank?

No, my speedometer is below the handlebars and risers so if I put on short risers I'm not sure how low I can go without having to relocate the speedometer. Or it might miss the tank with short risers on too because the stock ones are bent towards the tank. I just wanted to see if anyone had tackled this problem before I go out and bought the risers and realized they wont work. Thanks again

I originally had the stock 1" risers on my sportster but it also came with the standard Bull horn bar.I replaced them with drag bars and 6" risers. You can go with the standard 1" risers, but you will be hunched over(good for 18yo),6" risers give you a straighter back.I'll show pics later tonight.

just flip it over, so the speedo is on top.
I have an 01 xl1200c, when i got it the previous owner put the speedo up top. When i changed the bars out i diddnt like the speedo up high so i just flipped the top clamp and popped the dummy lights out and flipped them. |

I have a C and moved the speedo onto the the upper triple clamp with a Dyna speedo mount and a couple of 1" spacers. The holes in the Dyna bracket had to be opened up a bit to match those in the upper triple clamp.

on my 94 I went with riserless bars...i guess you could call them t-drag bars? And used two 1 inch ness cable brackets to mount the speedo...hard to make it sound like it looks I guess. Ill post up some pics when I get back to the house today
