The only thing you really leave is your reputation, everything else rusts and falls apart.

Fair and honest, enough said.

....and I just commented a few days ago on another forum about the need for someone like Dragon to keep everyone in line...I admired the way he did not let things get out of hand....

.....from chaos came order...

That's a bummer. Always impressed with the order kept on the JJ - useful discussion and tech articles, not internet drama. Sad to hear.

Wow. I never even knew he was sick. When I first got my Triumph he mailed me some manuals that I needed and asked for absolutely nothing in return. He had his moments with me too, but I always thought of him as a good guy. My condolences to his family.

Rest in peace my friend.

One of my favorite Dragon posts was his usual irritation at some fuck using all caps. We all are going to miss Doug, even the guys who were usually crossed up with him.

hard news. he always seemed to be fair and even when he came down on folks, it never seemed mean spirited to me.

hope wherever he's at, he's at peace. his absence *will* be felt.

R.I.P. Dragon.

He was one of the first people I started talking to regularly on this board. Real cool guy with a lot of history.

I checked my inbox still had this one saved because I liked it, you all might also.

Hah ! Showin my age again huh....

Those were some crazy times the mid-'70s....the music was so strong, what we liked (I dont even remember it being called "metal").....B.O.C., Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, Robin Trower...then the more "mainstream" Zeppelin, Hendrix etc...

Now I've swung around (mellowed maybe) to early blues, & the early Brit blues-influenced rock; but that old heavy stuff still makes my heart jump.

Doug .

RIP Dragon. It's so weird going to a website everyday(to keep my sanity) for years, and then a piece of it is gone...very sad today.
