Thanks Hatch. I only got pm's (telling me why I was wrong before giving the good advise) which leaves me diddly squat. Given the amount of help & trade he did with folks here somebody's got have something to go on, even just a number.

Doug was a good guy. Always treated me really well. He always seemed to like the projects that I was working on and surprised me a few times by mailing me some really cool period parts for free... just because he thought they would look right on my bike.

A year or so ago when I found out he was sick I went up to visit him to make sure he was OK and being taken care of. At the time he could barely walk and had a tough time getting across his yard to show me around his shop.

I really didn't expect him to check out so soon. Ride In Peace Doug.

I gotta' say I never really saw eye to eye with Dragon and we would butt heads sometimes, but he was a stand up guy...it was an agree to disagree kind of thing. Brash, stubborn, and a real pia, but a wealth of information and all around decent guy that would bend over backwards to help you. RIP brother and condolences to his family.

sure he was a pain in the ass sometimes, but the dude had so much knowledge and just knew bikes...this is a big loss for the JJ for sure.

Wow, this news sucks...I just logged onto the site for the first time in several months the other day and tried to contact him. I'm really sad to hear that he has passed. Dragon helped make my Bro Tom's dying request happen. I bet Tom was waiting at the Pearly Gates to thank him and to go for a ride. Godspeed, Dragon!
