Iron Horsemen Gorman,Cal. Early 60's
Hi
I'm an Iron Horsemen New Hampshire, Maine (out) I saw some old pic taken by Bill Ray in 1965 of Iron Horsemen Gorman,Cal. I would like to see more and learn more about the California IHMC. Jim as far as I was told by Tom McMullen the Iron Horsemen were an Orange County club. This county is to the south of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is surrounded by Mountains and a coastline. If you travel north out of L.A. you go up the mountain and after a while down into the Bakersfield area. We call this mountain range the Grapevine and you probably heard that expression in many songs. About halfway through there is a little town called Gorman. Just Gas stations, a car repair and a store and now a couple of fast food restaurants. Gorman is about as far as your Wassell tank will take you. Hence all the pics of all the guys hanging out. McMullen told me that the Iron Horsemen had all finished, chrome plated and painted showbikes and if you were into choppers they were the club to join. They were prominently featured in Street chopper magazine many times. I forgot if he was a member or not. Takehikes would know that.
