Default Just picked this up,50' pre unit

Pretty excited about it..Want to go through all the fluids, new tires, and clean it up as this is the way I brought it home so there is going to be pretty bright, lol It has a chrome frame, carbs, chrome everything. The guy said it was his grandpa's show bike and he rode it for a while some time ago and changed out the bars for comfort but those are gonna go. Im just hoping I can get some more clearance once I put new tires on it and I got to find a way to put a kick stand on it without ruining the chrome,etc...I like the tank but that might get me to the gas station. It came with a cool molded rear fender that was done by lead (not pictured). Anyway, cant wait to get er' going...

Dogs bollocks mate! That thing's just screaming to be built Ed Roth' radical '60s style custom. Think lower bars, super skinny, shaved & shrouded front end, straight headers with 'shakers' lotsa flake and loose that big ass seat.

Lovely job.

Cheers Johnny

Cool Re: Just picked this up,50' pre unit

Very cool bike. I like that seat..doesn't look that big to me.

At first I thought you had a later aluminum head on it but it appears to be an iron head painted silver...nice.

Congrats man!

Neat-o.

The headlight seems a bit odd on there to me as does the front fender.

Tank is awesome, whole bike is awesome.

More photos, please. And maybe give this guy a shout with more photos, he may be able to tell you what you've got as far as history is concerned:

Tread carefully, it'll be hard not to screw that one up if you do anything to it!

Great scoot!

Thanks guys, I just wanted to change the color as I am not into flames. The back fender is really trick. All Im changing is the bars (as the risers that are on there dont match) and maybe a smaller front hub. I dont think the seat is too big either other wise Im really not gonna fit on it,lol.. I was wondering about the oil tank too as it did look small to me too as they used a propane bottle which I like but Im not sure about the oil capicity. I will get more pics as I just took a quick one to show you all but I wanted to clean it up a bit before I did...Im really not gonna try to mess with it too much so I dont screw it up

damn, that is a nice bike, don't change a thing just try and put it back to how it was. I am sure there are old photos of that bike floating around or in magazines from the day. Definitely a show bike, hence the small oil tank etc. If you want something just to ride I will trade you a pre unit for that one, if you start replacing the oil tank, painting it etc etc then it just won't be the same.
