Ok here's Denvers#4. It's a KZ1000 built in 84. We first saw this bike on a trailer with another Denvers Honda in Laughlin at the River Run I think in 2000.
In 2003 I called him to see if he would was interested in selling one of them. He told me he had just traded both to Fred for one of his rollers. I called Fred up and he said he just sold the Honda and the Kaw was still their. I told him to hold the bike and that we would be their to pick it up the next weekend. The son of the owner of the shop I work at is the one who bought it first. Then he sold itt to a friend of his a few months later. It still stayed at the shop with the other bikes for a couple of years before I was able to buy it. ![]() ![]()

Thanks dragon that was TOO easy.
Last shot of Denvers#4 for now. This will probably be the last of our six bikes to get done. Denvers #6 is most worthy of being done next when chopperjim's is closer to being finished. We need to freshin the top end, rechrome and repaint the rest. I had a set of drag pipes made for it so far and the plans for the paint are that it will be the same color candy with twice as much gold leaf.

Thanks for keeping these bikes the way they are meant to be, and not adding a bunch of silly crap. They look outstanding, great job! With old bikes and cars disappearing to the crusher or to someone that thinks they have a better idea of what it should look like, its nice to know someone is doing it right!

Oh, yeah. Thanks Tony Bones for starting this thing, and keeping it real on the west side of the mountains. I'am stoked on your contributions to church of choppers lately!

It's more of a chalenge and gratifying to make them look like they once did than to make them look like they could.
Thanks DeeBee. |

SoulCrusher thanks for the kind words, Our collection is not just for us,It is for every one. In the last 2 months we have had tourists from England,France,Italy take pictures with us & our bikes. Don't be suprised to see more countries come aboard The Jockey Journal.
DeeBee you are right,we have been doing bikes & cars for quite awhile now, watching show cars & bikes go from bitchen featured vehicles to pieces of crap that the new owner thought was just to cool. Most don't know the significance of pieces of history. It is only original once. They can be brought back a second time to as close to original as possible, which is what we are doing. It seems that every one on this thread understands this. Thank you all. |

This is by far the coolest thread I've read on JJ! keep it coming... keep it going... Denver was a legend in California while I was growing up there. I have old Hot Bikes magazines from the early 80's- I'll go home and go through them and will scan all the Denver's bike's I can find. Awesome stuff and thanks a million to Denversdaughter- we all love hearing about your dad first hand- please keep posting!

Very cool thread!! Thanks for all the info and pics, HD, Honda, it doesn't matter, Denver's bikes are some of the coolest!! It really makes it kind of tough to answer Guy's question in the other thread, doesn't it. Keep the info coming, I can't wait to see more!

Looking at Kayjohns picture with Freddie are the infamous?
Denvers1 to his right,Denvers2 behind & Denvers 3 to his left. And HOG HEAVEN for some of the best Bar-B-Que you could ever ask for. Just ask the people that have had it. And pretty kool motorcycle enthusiasts & popcorn poppers. Check them out if you ever see them. You won't be disappointed. No we don't have anything to do with HOG HEAVEN other than knowing the owners & eating their wonderful offerings. This picture was in THE HORSE BACKSTREET CHOPPERS #47 January 2005 with a very well done article about Freddie @ Freds Frames. 909-875-1523. This is the correct phone number. Last edited by CHOPPERJIM; 07-02-2008 at 09:46 PM. Reason: corrected picture information & phone number |

Does Freddy still make the rigid front ends. I know he made one for somebody on the list. I'd love to get a 30 over for my Sporty project
