![]() The new issue of Street Chopper is out now and should be on the stands for about three months. This is the 40th anniversary for the mag and a lot has happened since '69. Jeff Holt is the new editor and is doing his best to get it back on its feet to be the proper chopper mag it should be. It's only out twice this year, but we have shown the higher-ups that the mag is current, relevant, different from the rest, and can make money (their biggest concern). Jeff asked me to help him out on this and I'm proud of what we and the others that pitched in did. I've known John Edwards and Eric Webb for about a decade and was happy to shoot and write both of their features. ![]() And When was the last time you saw one knuckle, three pans, one pan shovel, one gen shovel, one cone shovel, and one sporty on the cover of a mag? There'll be a release party/show on saturday May 30th in Garden Grove, CA.

Dude, I will for sure buy a couple of copies. I will also be at the release par-tay. I will try and get a certain someone to ride his '68 Sporty and others with sick ass scoots! Sounds like a great issue and kool ass party too.

See you all there.
Looks like the mag is going in a good direction. Choppers that have been chopped and not just bolted together, etc. Hope they can start pumping more than two issues out per year soon.

I picked it up Saturday and this issue is great. I normally don't buy SC, but this one is packed full of great bikes and articles. Definately a great job.

I agree! This is the best issue I've seen in a waaaay long time. I usually don't buy it either but this one was a really great issue. Jason, Dean and I were fortunate to work on the illustrated tech article for it. Thanks to Jason for asking me to illustrate him and to Jeff and Ernie from Street Chopper.

Wal Mart is actually one of our biggest distributors, esspecially in the mid-west. Yeah, try Barnes and Noble, borders, 7-11, and your grocery store. It should be anywhere the sell Hot Bike (don't start), same company and mag family.

Now don't that just beat all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I contacted Suzanne Baldwin from S.C. back in late 07right befor they started going belly up. Sent her alot of info and pics of original Denver's choppers. The 140 plus issues I have from 1970 to 1984 have 48 of Denvers bikes in 37 issues. ( which two of those we have)Thats was more than Sugar Bear, Ness, Perewitz, and Simms all together. But today those four have probably passed Denver's #s. Now back to my point. I'v been in contact with Suzanne, she passed on my stuff to the editor at that time---pro V-Twin--- Courtney Halowell who seemed to misplace it. Probably because of our six bikes at that time they were all metrics with only one H/D. Then Suzanne emails with news that she doesn't know whats going to happen to S.C. and my subcription that I just renewed for the 8th time since 2000.What a bummer.-------Started getting Hot Bike and Bagger's is what happend. Then out of the blue Toph Bocchiaro emails me saying they went through four editors in six months and was in contacted with Courtney trying to get my stuff. That was the last I heard from anybody. Now that I'v ranted enough chopperjim and I need to figure out how to get seven Denver's choppers to Ca. in 26 days. ![]() chopperjim's "MY DREAM" Street Chopper Jan.1978 ![]() Street Chopper Oct. 1974 ![]() Eight original Denver's Choppers.( Preserving a peice of History ) Last edited by kayjohn; 05-05-2009 at 01:19 AM. |
