Default Shovelhead Cafe Racer pic........

I've searched and searched, and I cannot find the pictures of the Superglide Shovel that was converted into a cafe racer of sorts. I think the pics were all black and white, and the bike wasn't exactly revered here, but it had some really nice engineering. Does anyone have them saved? Can you re-post please?

Here ya go, Fab Kevio....

"Cafe Shovel"

Way towards the end the builder joins and discusses some of the details.

Great! I tried every search combination I could think of, except for shortening it to "shovel". I'm in awe over Ed's vision and execution. I bet there wasn't a big-twin in the country that could touch this bike in 1970.

And - my appologies for refering to it as a "superglide".

Hey Kevin, Ed Riggins is one of the Big Cheeses at Juxtapoz Magazine. Killer artist, super cool guy. I think he was on here for a while smacking down some yahoos over his bike! I'll PM you his e-mail...

Holy shit! Does anyone have more info on this bike? I've never seen a BT roadracer. This photo just fucked up my whole day because now I can't think about anything else. I want to head to the shop with a hacksaw and some orange paint. The builder even made the Emgo 1/4 fairing look cool. Is that a regular ol' 4-speed frame.

I've been cruising Euro racing websites looking for more info or pics, but haven't found anything else.
I think its a FXR frame though. Take a close look at the way the frame is rounded behind the tranny and where rear master cyl is mounted.....
The builder/racer has to be a sick fuck and I want shake his hand.

i think we need to get Ed to do push for a juxtapoz featuring art of the 2 wheel variety, I've seen the indian larry tribute (amazing) and occasionaly they do small features but damn the game is crazy right now, Juxtapoz is amazing and would certainly give us all a taste of some wild motorcycles

You're definitely right about the FXR frame. That swingarm is crazy. I'd love to vintage race that (with an earlier engine) just to show all the snobs that it can be competitive against their rare and snotty euro and brit iron. H-D is underrepresented on the vintage roadrace circuit.

You would need really deep pockets to build and maintain a competetive HD. I thought long and hard about building XL, but decided to go with BMW. I have the same torrid love affair with 60s-70s Sporty as same era Beemers. So far, I'm on my second season of abusing bone-stock BMW motor with over 90k on it! HD just wouldn't last. Also, the current class structure in AHRMA and WERA puts HDs and BMW into highly competetive classes with very light and fast Jap machinery. I get my ass handed to me by KZs and FJs. And a very fast Norton.

most jap 2 into 1 headers like MAC or Jardine use 2.25 pipe and megaphone. Cut to size and enjoy.

Nope. You're thinking of the XLCR. I saw that movie long before I even knew what an XLCR was, and got giddy watching it on the screen.
