Rouser got hit on the freeway this morning about 200 yards into the USA. We watched him slide a couple lanes attached to the front bumper of a Scion driven by some cross eyed idiot. Bike started right back up, will need a bit of work, but looks like nothing we can't fix. He went away in the ambulance but I just heard from Chris and he's doing great. A twisted ankle and some skinned up knuckles is all. Didn't even scratch his dirty old helmet. Amazing, I'm just so glad it wasn't worse, it had the potential to be deadly.
Wait till you guys see the Michael Lichter photos. I saw a few on his laptop last night and he's just got hundreds if not thousands of images, lots of good riding shots. Thanks to everyone who made this such a retarded success. This was the best one so far, bar none. Riding motorcycles is fun! |

Out-fucking-standing!! EDR rocked! This was my first and not my last. One of my coils took a shit on the way into san felipe had to trailer to ensenada then got a loaner coil from Maddog since his engine was seized and road home today. So Matt and Jimmy and myself are safely back in the USA. Jimmy's still on the road though, heading east.
Pics later tonight. Got to find a place that will host the strip club shots, don't worry guys i'll blur out your faces to protect the innocent, lol. |

Hey all
Well, didn't get to meet any of you. Maybe next year, but had a blast anyway. Enjoy the story. A little long but some crazy shit. Due to work commitments, couldn't leave Los Angeles until 2 pm. Hit really bad traffic (of course) which delayed us even more. Rode out to the 78-79-86 through Borrega. South of the border, even with maps, got lost in Mexicali (our stop for the night). Sun-faded street signs useless after dark - but found the hotel. From then out, nothing but silver tequila, Tecates, Johnnie Walker Red. Next day, 50 miles south of Mexicali, flat tire for my buddy on his Ducati. Moron packed plenty of underwear and socks but nothing for the tire. Luckily for him I had a can of Fix-a-Flat and one of those mini Slime compressors in my backpack (forgot the patch kit I had sitting in the garage). The tire in a can worked somewhat and managed to keep his rubber at a moderately floppy 10-15 psi allowing us to make it to La Ventana roadside cantina 20 miles down the road. Nothing like watching someone wobbling along at 40 mph on that busted up Mex 5 for a half hour. One thing that was good was he went with the full ACE coverage from Baja Bound which includes roadside service. They dispatched a truck and while we waited, it was Tecates, cigars and watched "The World's Fastest Indian" in the shop. Also hung with "Los Solo Angeles" out of Tijuana when they showed up. The tow truck was a small Toyota pickup with no ramp. Got help from a couple of Los Angeles lifting the bike into the bed. Then it was off to San Felipe with the truck driver doing 80 while I was trying to keep up, weaving and dodging potholes like fucking crazy. My good friend was oblivious the whole time. Here's me on my way to my own personal oblivion. San Felipe, got his tire patched. Later on drank until 4 am, met two cutie dancers that decided to keep us as their Americano boyfriends for the weekend. Saturday it was too much of a risk on his tire to cross to Ensenda, so we decided to stay in San Felipe, which turned out pretty damn good. Breakfast with the cuties, Cuban Montecristos, drinking again until 4 am, more hang with Los Solo Angeles. I wanted to stay Sunday night as well but my buddy started to get a little bitchy, so off we went at (3 pm - again late). Another day and I would have wound up with a Mexican bride I think. Still may. Tire patch held, crossed the border at Mexicali. An amazing blood red full moon rising going through Borrega. All was good until it got really dark and we screwed up coming back off the S2 and went east instead of west on the 78. Instead of getting back the way we came through Temecula, we wound up at the Salton Sea. Waiting for us there was a full blown sand storm. mouthfuls of grit and visibility of about 20 feet for a couple of miles. After getting out of that we stopped to discuss that fact that I had about 5 miles worth of fuel left and that's when we realized we were coming up to the junction of the 86 and 78 - 40 miles in the wrong direction . Out of nowhere, some guy in a truck stops to see if we were okay and he happened to have a gallon of gas in the back. Just enough for me to get to the next gas pump. After that, we gunned it on the 10 west from Indio with some nice 20-25 mph crosswinds in 55 degrees. Got home at 1 am barely able to move. One day's rest. Almost ready to go back. Hope to actually meet some of y'all. Last edited by RandallKS; 04-28-2008 at 05:47 PM. |

Words to live by:
"They'll steal your comida, and stab you in the chichis." I had a blast, with dudes from around the world. Now I also have a reason for new bars and paint, but thankfully I walked away without a scratch. I'm sure Rouser will be back to his antics in no time. I'm trying to track a few of you guys down, you know who you are. Shoot me a line at scarfoot@gmail.com. Peace, Ryan

Hello all,
New to this "Chopper thing" Went last year and had a blast but this year I was running chase. I was impressed with the folks I met last year. Had a great time. This year I did a lot more and met even more awesome folks. I am sucked into the vortex more than ever. Damn what a time! I even brought my Son Jacob 16 We had so much fun. I felt like I was among Brothers the whole time. Baja knowledge is something that is earned. I have been going to these places since 1985 (on four wheels) and feel blessed to get the opportunity to share it with some of you. I can't name everyone here but everyone that I came in contact with... You all earned my respect , welcome to my little slice of Heaven, thank you for the beers, the shrimp - clam platters, and the great memories. I just might be on two wheels soon... Matt |

Yeee fucking haw....
Just rolled in myself....rode about 400 miles yesterday without a problem, got up today and rode awhile until I stopped at a gas stop and found my rocker boxes moving around on the shovel...pulled the tanks and tightened them up (fixed the oil leaks too!) then at the next gas stop had a flat rear tire...the guys that mounted my tire used too small of a washer on the stem and it sucked into the hole in the rim...new washer and a can of fix a flat and made it the last hundred miles or so. Thank you to all the sponsors and people that made this happen....great fun! Oh yea...Fredo ya left out bottlerockets flying over my head on the beach!

Thank you Bill ,Chris & McGoo for organizing the finest bike event anyone could be lucky enough to attend, "High Times-Low Standards" sums it up completly!
Thank you to all the sponsors who kicked down the cash and participated in the event Kickstart Cycles (Walt you are a "Bad Ass Mo Fo" who worked on as many bikes as he could to help people out while there) Biltwell Atomic Customs Spartan Frameworks Flyrite Afterhours Choppers CRO Customs Four Aces Cycle Cosmetics Rich Phillps Warren's Cycle ( Warren jr. you are also a fuggin bad ass) and Tyler from Lowbrow Customs who made EDR banners and some killer decals that got passed out. Everyone needs to patronize these businesses before shopping any where else " keep this sick culture going" I didn't shoot as many pic's as I usually do cause there were more than enough photographers on hand and I just wanted to "Ride -eat animals and chug beer" I got to do all that and then some. Last but not least I want to thank my bike the "Soul Crusher" for kicking ass and not leaving me stranded any where! Here is a little slide show:http://www.flickr.com/photos/7203035...78459044/show/ and a few faves ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -Eric

Too good, once again! Great seeing and riding with everyone again this year, as well as meeting the East coast crew. Witnessing Rouser get hit was scary as hell, I'm glad he's doing okay. Blasting through TJ with him was awesome. Photos and handlebar video soon... As always, thanks to Bill, McGoo, and Chris for everything. ¡Gracias amigos!

Absolutely the best one yet. Hangin in LA for a few days visiting a nice lady friend and my kids before I head back to Nor Cal. Got some great shots to upload and saw some more of Micheal's pictures before taking him to the airport. He REALLY captured the run. The Leche Facials were quite tasty!
Too much to list.....I'm happily toasted!!! Joey |

Hey Ed we missed ya out here, the east coast boys showed in full force, They all rode the shit out of there bikes with only a few tweaks here and there.
Coach it was good meetin and ridin with ya. Old Sage you are now the new poster kid of the EDR. Did Michael say when Easyrider will run the article? My bike threw up as soon as I pulled it in the garage Ha ![]() -Eric

McGoo here, weighing in before this thread becomes too much of a logrolling ball cup for its own good...
Thanks to the 11 sponsors and dozen or so chase truck drivers who made EDR III the best one yet by everyone's account, Thanks to our friendly hoteliers Ruben, Aaron, Kiki and Juan Carlos for their gracious hospitality, hot food and cold beer, Thanks to my business partners and good friends Bill and Chris for co-hosting the coolest event it's been my pleasure to be a part of, and last but not least, thanks to the 250 or so men and women who sacrificed time, money, life and limb to follow a bunch of people they hardly knew to a place they'd never seen to do things they can't remember in a week they'll never forget. YOU are the reason the EDR will ride in infamy long after news of its existence has blown into dust. Thanks again. |

I just got in the door. I figured I'd jump on and see what I missed. Can't wait for more photos to come in.
Thanks to all the sponsors for making this run happen. Thanks to Walter for making the East Coast Invasion possible. Thanks to Fredo and Big Oscar for the ride and hospitality. Thanks to Rudehog for leading us to the border. Thanks to the St.louis and PA crews and Shawn and Graham (The Canadians, eh?) that loaned us tools to fix our shit and trucks/trailers for broke-down bikes. Thanks to Milwaukee Mike for loaning Bugles parts off of his down ride so he could continue. You all rock! Made a bunch of new friends and saw some down-right gruesome good times. Sorry to see the carnage, but glad to hear that everyone will be ok. You are all some tough mother fuckers! Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone, but those I did meet were all quality folks. Thanks for the laughs. My stomach still hurts from Bugles shit-stories! Mud Buttons, HAHAHA!!! Best of all were that the guys I rode with rode hard and well. We pushed our bikes past any speeds that we had imagined being able to do for so long and had a blast in the twistys. I go to admit I wasn't sure if my ride was gonna make it when I left home. I sprung an oil leak, shorted out my lighting circuit, and had to push start it every time I stopped 'cause the starter took a shit, but it kept thumping along. Guess I got to keep it. |

Bill, thank you. You got it right, know that. Chi town crew, you guys rock. Slippery Pete, you are the man. Canada Jack, no worm this year, but you guys are as good as it gets My crew, you guys made it possible. Thanks for puttin up with my 36 year old motor. The pic below sums it up, for me. oh, and if any magazines want to use my shots this year, I'd appreciate a heads up and a few copies, cough(dice). Video posted, not work friendly. http://www.filefreak.com/pfiles/19630/EDR08.wmv

Sweetback, We met you at the motel in Temecula before the run. I saw you're bike in San felipe and never saw your face again. Too much beer i guess? Glad you got the bike straightened out and made it through.

Matt, thanks for your assistance on the run. It was nice to hear the "no man left behind" comment. Made me feel a bit better about going to Mexico on my cycle. Hope your kid's eyes will be OK after all the shenigans.

Halarious! Dudes layed out all over the place, laying where they "fell". Reminds me of the good times following Hurricane Andrew.

Pretty much the greatest picture I've ever seen. . . . The look of shear determination, blood running down the arm from an earlier mishap, parts broken off the bike and quickly repaired with whatever was lying around. Just a fucking classic. Weeeehaaaaa!!!!

Bill is a tough dude. After the sleeping bag took him down at speed, he took a few stitches and was back up and riding. I saw him as he was leaving Temecula for SF.
