Default tech week: boost your panhead oil pressure

so here is the fix. take apart your rockers. and plug the old feed hole to the rocker arm. using a used 4 speed trans roller.some pans had hydro lifters on top of the pushrods. thats why it feeds pressure thru the rocker arm. with solid lifters the pressure just bleeds out the end of the shaft! loss of pressure! tap the roller down to where it will just be below the mounting plane. in the second pics im drilling over into the new feed area. its a pretty steep angle to avoid the rocker journal area! third step plug the hole in the rocker shaft i use a piece of 3/16 alum welding rod. use lock tight and peen it over a little. use about 1/2' of rod. now the oil enters the middle forces it self out both ends of the rocker arm! no more bleed off! pressure fed journals! been doing it 15 years no problems so far!!! i run drippers on all the valves also. thomas
