to protect as much paint or powder from being burned away. Get a tube of tooth paste, apply 1/2" away from weld area and that will do it. Also, if you get the mint if makes the shop smell good. I used the heat sink paste for years and one day ran out. Tried the tooth paste and that is all I have used since. Lot cheaper also.

how many other things did you try before figuring out the toothpaste. Seems kinda like a shot in the wind. But thanx for the tip.

the toothpaste was a no-brainer for Brew. If you notice, he always looks his best. Keeping a supply of toothpaste on hand at all times insures it! Thanks for the tip, Brewdude.

yep, it is alot easier plus smells good also. It is a lot cheaper and always available.

When I was a kid the Group Home kids would lay a bead of toothpaste out on the window sill until it dried. Then they'd smoke it...
