old ft engined dragsters were called diggers, rails, slingshots etc. maybe thats where drag theme came from. ness used the name for his style. mostely sportsters a couple big twins were made, called street diggers. we had one that was actually used as bonneville/el mirage/muroc racer with panhead and indian power. retired as a dragster w/114" shovel. Jim Davis, top fuel (car) driver and chassis builder built these frames and clyde rawlings top fuel bike rider did the frame mods on ours. couple of pics...vaya con Dios
