Usually when that happens.....I get the chit knocked out of me....

All the wires has been traced and going to the right spots....

Now that was a Cool video....

Not a word was spoken, only the sound of the Motor doing the talking...

Back home in the small town that I grew up in...We got a BMW Dealership..
A Long time Buddy got a job there as Parts manager...
He bought a New R100 and put down mega miles on it...
Had 0 problem out of it until at 120,000 came a little oil leak at the base of one jug.

Not being a gear head, he got me to help him put on new gaskets...
When we pulled off the jugs, I was expecting to see alot of ware on the bore...
Wasn't the case...The bore still had the crosshatch that the factory did when first built...

I rode alot of miles with this Boy...on my Panhead....
He rode that bike hard, not beating on it, to say, but did take it to Red-line in most all gears...

Most likely he is still laying down miles on it...

One of my bikes is a 1980 BMW R100RS. It is a great bike and a sleeper. It has a big bore kit, ported and flowed heads, triple springs and titanium valves and collars, radial thrust rocker bearings, dual plugged, factory sport cam, light flywheel, ignition mods, modded airbox, modded mufflers. A few handling mods as well. Looks stock, but will pull 8500RPM in high gear (that is about 1000 over original redline). It is still smooth as silk at anything over 90 up to 130+ and is a fantastic touring machine. It has been all over the country. Just looks like well worn old beemer.
Somewhere in Kentucky on our way to Nova Scotia, with my wife and her Honda!

Great, now I know vimeo.com is also blocked here!

^ Robbie, did you do the engine work yourself? I like that it looks bog standard but breathes some fire.

The headwork and lightening the flywheel were done by San Jose BMW. The rest by me.
Beemers lend themselves well to cafe racer builds, and have lots of performance potential. They are way overbuilt as stock, one reason they last so long. I read recently where 50% of the BMWs built from '55-'89 are still on the road, an amazing statistic.
Whereas 80% of Harleys are still on the road, the other 20% made it home.

No problem, I'm used to it
I find it a good gauge of what folks are like if they have no sense of humor or can't laugh at themselves once in a while. I find most folks take themselves way too seriously...........
I much prefer dogs

^ I prefer pigs. Dogs look up at us, cats look down at us, but, pigs treat us as equals!

This one had 96K indicated when I brought it home, but odometer wasn't working consistently, so who knows the actual mileage.
I put it on the track and did a dozen or so track days and races before doing a top end. The bottom was still good, but it got refreshed anyways.
Rode it all over Florida and later SoCal.
